I Deliver Chicken
Written: 1971
Writers: David Jenneson, Alan Hovden.
Status: Unrecorded and unpublished
Genre and Style: Rock boogie
Comments: Dave: The idea for this song literally fell into my lap one day when I was hitch hiking and was picked up by a Kentucky Fried Chicken delivery man. A song came on the radio I hadn’t heard before so I pointed at the radio and asked ‘What’s that?’ The driver thought I was pointing at his clip board and said, “I deliver chicken.’ That was enough. Within a week the song was written and became the Burner’s best dance song ever.
Comments: Al: Just downright one of the nastiest boogie songs ever written.. smokin!
If you’re interested at all
I deliver chicken
See the menu on the wall

Phone in orders day or night
It’ll make you feel all right
I deliver chicken
It comes hot with chicken sauce
I deliver chicken
Work at nights I’m my own boss
I deliver chicken
Hear me knockin’ on your door
People always ask for more
I deliver chicken
Who’s the one who doesn’t want some?
Who’s the one who’ll do without?
You’re fingers you’ll be lickin’
I deliver chicken
I get off on chicken breasts
I deliver chicken
Necks and legs and all the rest
I deliver chicken
Someone said if I was smart
I would always leave the heart
I deliver chicken
Business has been picking up
I deliver chicken
I may have to buy a truck
I deliver chicken
Rent another telephone
Listen to ‘dem chicken bones
I deliver chicken.
Who’s the one who doesn’t want some?
Who’s the one who’ll do without?
You’re fingers you’ll be lickin’
I deliver chicken.
