You Fucked Me in the Asshole of My Heart
Written: 1971
Writers: David Jenneson, Alan Hovden,
Status: Unrecorded unpublished
Genre and Style: Country satire
Comments: Dave: This song was written in a hotel room when Al and I were trying to forge an instrument of peace between hostile factions of red necked cowboys and native Indian bloods. It worked. Both sides loved the song and kept yelling for encores. Its traditional three chord country verse sets up the audience for the outrageous chorus, delivered deadpan on stage in powerful three part harmony as if it were the end of the world. It was classic, understated parody that elevated crowds to a kind of comedic joy once they got it. After that it never ceased to endear us to audiences. It is one of those simple, high concept songs that everyone thinks they can write but no one ever does. There is no country band on earth that could go wrong by recording and releasing this song.
Comments: Al: Outrageous! This one will take anyone by surprise. A license to swear wrapped in a wonderful tune!
Last night I had cause to think about you
Talking to a dear old friend of mine
He said how now since I’ve been seen without you
I seemed to have lost some of my former shine.
There wasn’t really much that I could tell him
Wasn’t much I really could explain
I didn’t want to say how I had fell in
To your little pleasure pot of pain
And then I thought how much that I did love you
Thought about the day that we did part
I know I’ll always have that picture of you
Laughing while you fucked me in the asshole of my heart
In the asshole of my heart
That’s where all the trouble starts
You turned me right around
And I went down down down
In the asshole of my heart
You just let me play my part
Laughing while you fucked me in the asshole of my heart
And then I thought how much that I did love you
Thought about the day that we did part
I know I’ll always have that picture of you
Laughing while you fucked me in the asshole of my heart
In the asshole of my heart
That’s where all the trouble starts
You turned me right around
And I went down down down
In the asshole of my heart
You just let me play my part
Smiling while you fucked me in the asshole of my heart
And then I thought how much that I did love you
Thought about the day that we did part
I know I’ll always have that picture of you
Laughing while you fucked me in the asshole of my heart
In the asshole of my heart
That’s where all the trouble starts
You turned me right around
And I went down down down
In the asshole of my heart
You just let me play my part
Smiling while you fucked me in the asshole of my heart
